On Turning Two…

I just want to say a huge thank you to everyone who came out last night. The evening was a huge success and a great way to ring in our third year of operation!

Whenever I rent venues for the shows we throw, there’s a to-be-expected air of caution taken from the landlords because of the antisocial behaviour that has historically been associated with rock music and young people partying. I actively assure them every time that I can rely on followers of Big Smoke and this group of artists to not cause any trouble or damage to property, and once again that was true last night.

Without getting too sappy, this is a beautiful community and I feel very lucky to be a part of it. Cities can be lonely places but that has not been my experience in Vancouver since arriving here 8 years ago. I hope that this record label can continue to offer a reliable space for positive engagement with all types of people through music.

A final and very special thank you to my friends for performing and helping out with door/bar/merch/everything else last night.

Lovelovelovethankyouthankyouthankyou,

Adam
